If you are planning to have a baby, it is important that you and your partner are in the best of health.
Foresight (http://www.foresight-preconception.org.uk/) has put together a researched pre-conception programme, which identifies and addresses various health concerns that may impact on fertility including diet, lifestyle, pollutants, infections and environmental hazards.
The aim is to optimise the health of both prospective parents before conception occurs so that a pregnancy can be started with strong sperm and ova, and an embryo that can implant and develop under optimum conditions in a healthy uterus. Foresight have found that under the correct conditions it is possible to have uncomplicated pregnancies resulting in strong, healthy and perfectly formed babies.
- Infertility
- Miscarriage
- Low sperm count
- Premature births
- Problems relating to conception, pregnancy and birth
The programme can be used successfully whether this is your first time trying to conceive or you have a history of infertility and failed IVF cycles. It can also be used alongside IVF treatment.
- 78.4% of 'infertile' couples have healthy babies (compared to 22.6% with IVF)
- 47.1% of couples combining Foresight and IVF have healthy babies
- Only 3.5% of Foresight pregnancies end in miscarriage (NHS 25%)
- 0.47% of Foresight babies are malformed (NHS 6%) over 75% of 'infertile' couples have healthy babies
