Metabolic Balance® is a weight management programme which works to rebalance your metabolism by regulating your hormone levels. The programme was devised by a German doctor and is today used throughout Germany, Austria and the US by the medical profession and physicians. The programme was introduced to the UK in 2008 and is quickly gaining recognition as a viable option for long-term weight loss.

Metabolic Balance® is an easy to follow, 4-phase programme. Your individual plan is based on the results of a simple blood test which indicate what you need to retrain and optimise your metabolism. The meal plan suits your body’s unique chemistry and works to support your metabolic and nutrient needs whilst also taking into account your own goals and objectives. The results tend to be quick and clients are often surprised that they don’t experience any cravings or hunger pangs in between meals. The end result is that your metabolism returns to its natural setpoint and you lose excess weight along the way. If the programme is followed closely the weight loss is permanent and related health conditions often disappear.

You will be eating real food, three times a day and everything is available from your local supermarket. The foods are not chosen for their caloric value or for their fat, protein or carbohydrates content but for the effect they have on your hormonal balance, thus promoting a healthy metabolism and a natural release of insulin.

Cost

The Metabolic Balance® programme costs £550 and the blood test is an additional £80. You will get your own personalised eating plan which you will be able to return to at any point in the future. You will have 7 appointments with me during the first 3 months to support and guide you through each phase, and I provide email and telephone support in between appointments to discuss any questions you may have. My role is to make the plan work for you and I will give you lots of practical support and recipe ideas based on the foods included in your plan.

The 4 Phases of Metabolic Balance®

Phase 1 - Preparation
This first phase lasts two days and helps prepare your body and digestive system for the metabolic change. It is designed to gently cleanse your intestinal tract and starts to detoxify your body.

Phase 2 - Strict Adjustment
This phase lasts at least 14 days and is designed to "switch on" your metabolism and start balancing your bio-chemistry. You will strictly follow the guidelines in your bespoke plan. Your body will start to change and you will start noticing several healthy advantages such as loss of weight and increased energy.

Phase 3 - Relaxed Adjustment
This phase lasts a minimum of 4 weeks. You will be able to introduce new foods which were so far excluded from your plan and you will learn to "cheat" responsibly. As your body becomes rebalanced, your senses of taste and smell become more heightened and you will be more in tune with your body's nutritional needs and learn to listen to what your body is telling you.

Phase 4 - Maintenance
This phase is indefinite and starts when you are satisfied with your new weight and well being. You continue to follow the basic rules of nutrition to maintain a healthy functioning metabolism. Many participants stay on this phase for the rest of their life. This phase helps you to maintain your weight loss by following a simple set of nutrition rules.
